Pregnant tigertail #seahorse (Hippocampus comes). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch under their chest which holds from 1 – 2,000 eggs and the pregnancy takes from 1 to 4 weeks. It is estimated that only 5% of babies survive. There are 47 different species of seahorses and 14 of those were discovered in the last eight years.
